About

The Small-town Immigration Clearinghouse tracks the diversity explosion as it is manifested in the new lives of immigrants. It heralds communities that foster new arrivals’ participation in social, economic, political, cultural, and civic life.

Whether bringing users the survey of Lake City, MN’s Hispanic community, or reporting on ICE raids in Tennessee, the Small-town Immigration Clearinghouse will keep you informed about how (and whether) immigrants are finding a place to call home.

"There is something deeply transformational in the idea of America.”

-Pete Hamill

Diana R. Gordon

I am a retired political science professor working for the transformation of the United States into a truly multicultural society in which immigrants flourish.

I live in a small town on Long Island that has been revitalized, in part, by the contributions of recent Latino immigrants. My book, "Village of Immigrants: Latinos in an Emerging America," was published in November 2015.
